Hi - I've just returned from Grindelwald Switzerland and got an incredible return.

I had cruise control set at 65 - where possible - driving through France but Switzerland was initially a nightmare of stop start taking over 3 hours instead of 2.

On the M20 I was limited to 50mph for about 20 miles due to carriageway works.

In total I drove 593 miles with the R light coming on about 2.5 miles from home.

On filling up my range indicated I had another 50 miles left and to my surprise I just about managed to get 46 litres in.

This worked out at a mighty impressive 58 miles per gallon.

Sounds good especially for an auto. I've been more than delighted with the economy from our 1 litre 6 speed manual, once on the open road anyway. Not so great round town but regularly now getting 65+ on motorway trips and, remarkably, seem to be doing better on the new E10 unleaded than with the E5, perhaps the engine is more optimised?!

Hi that's outstanding economy.

I use E5 but will try out E10 on my next long trip.

The only issue I've got is the uncertainty over tyre pressures.

36.5 psi surely can't be right for a car that weighs the same as a Golf.

It compromises the ride
