I realize that the Kamiq is a new motor, and the Kamiq forum is new, but I was wondering "how many members already own one, sitting on their drive?
If so, what model do they have?

I see there are about 44 views on this post, but no replies, I do realise it's a new forum, when looking through, there's about 6 members in total that have posted, still give it time?

ME, i've got one. 1.5 se silver. Like it a lot. It replaces a Yaris which I had for 11 years and only changed as the yaris was starting to cost money in maintenance.
I'm looking forward to eventually getting out in it and enjoying it.

Hi "Stever1" thank you for posting.
I see you have the 1.5 engine, how do you find it, and what gearbox do you have? At the moment I have a 2019 VW Polo 113 BHP engine with an auto box.
The thing is we're no spring chickens and with the Mrs needing a new hip, she finds the Polo too low to get in, where as the Kamiq's higher seating would be a lot better, and with the 1.5 engine and auto would also be a great improvement.
I know you've not had it long, but what's your average MPG?

Hi silverhairs, Ive only done 1000 miles in it but I like it a lot. I have a manual and its doing about 48 MPG. If your going to go to a Kamiq from a Polo its a big size increace.

Hi "Stever1"
Sorry it's been a time for a reply, it's not so much the extra room, it's the height of the seats from the ground. We are OAP's and the Mrs has got trouble with one hip and she finds it hard to get in or out of the Polo as the seats are low for her. When the kids were younger we had a Renault Scenic, to get out you twisted sideways dropped your feet and got out. Now the Polo has stiff bolsters and with the low seats and the bolsters, I have to give her a push.
I looked at a VW T-cross, but the dash is the same in the Polo, it's nice to look at something different in a new car.

That's a good colour for it. I think certain colours really show off cars, better than others.
You can see a car in black, and another in red, I know it's the same car, but in red looks nicer!

Particularly for silverhairs I understand your predicament entirely. Wife & I both seniors & found our 6 year old MB Aclass needed more effort to access. Liked the high position of seating hence choosing the Kamiq. I absolutely love the car & as I had the merc auto I wanted the DSG which I will say now, is much better/smoother than MB DCT auto box. A big plus is when coasting it goes into neutral so mpg is excellent.
I took the 1.5 for extended road test (salesman family friend) but chose the 1.0L 115bhp. More than enough & much more spritely than my 1.5 (122bhp) merc as the Skoda being lighter is better power-weight ratio & of coarse the 1.5 was obscenely more expensive. Chose several options but regret going for “Virtual Cockpit” as it’s too complicated & where I’m struggling with certain settings both my dealer & Skoda uk customer service can’t give me answers. Let us know what you purchase(d)

What's you main issues with the virtual cockpit Lofty ? I agree it takes some getting used too and I've found myself leaving it on a particular set up which is pleasing and non too complicated. Happy to try and provide answers if I can
