Re: Dealer wants an early deal!

I took delivery of my SEL Exec in June and it doesn’t have traffic sign recognition. I have asked on the Briskoda forum whether TSR can be enabled via a software tweak as the hardware is already there (ie the camera). But it seems this is not possible. Annoying.

Re: New SE being down spec'd

I think Skoda may be referring to the heated windscreen rather than the seats. My old Focus had a heated screen which switched on automatically at 4 degrees.

Re: Kamiq Executive stop start

In my opinion, stop start is a waste of time. Puts more wear on the starter motor and battery. I switch it off as soon as I get in the car, along with lane assist.

Re: Dealer wants an early deal!

I have the 18in Vegas, but as it’s my first Kamiq I can’t make a comparison. I did think when I first drove it that there was a slight boominess or resonance to the road noise, a bit like an empty oil drum, but it’s very slight and i don’t notice it now. The great thing about the wheels though is th...

Re: Apple Car Play

I’ve had a message come up on my infotainment screen several times in the last week saying software update can be downloaded. I haven’t bothered to do this yet but could this be the issue?

Re: Car cut out

Your rev counter shows that the engine has not stopped, it is idling. And the warning lights show that the cruise and lane assist are unavailable. So what other lights have come on?

Re: Hello

I’ve got the SEL Exec with the 1.5 TSI DSG. Had it for a month and love it. Compliant ride which doesn’t adversely affect the handling too much, brilliant engine and gearbox which so far gives me about 45 mpg in mixed driving, 52 on a motorway trip, which should improve as I get more miles in. I wen...

Re: Do I buy a kamiq or a puma

I agree re VAG reliability. I have just bought my first Skoda after 9 years and 72,000 miles with a Golf. That was almost totally reliable, no issues other than a faulty turbo charge regulator.

Mackers - are you sure those wires are for seat heating? They could be for the sensors which tell the car if the seat is occupied so the seat belt warning comes on.

Re: Tyre pressures

That’s really useful info Chiguy! 36 does seem excessive to me, going to 30 will improve the ride quality and possibly noise also. Your real world experience over a year is very helpful, so I’ll go with that. Thanks. Re the skinny spare, I seem to recall that in my Golf the psi also seemed high, pre...
