I have noticed several references to Stand by/Back up battery in various posts across the forum, but I have no idea where such a component is located in the car. Anyone advise?

Hatchback Door Water Ingress
Just had need to open the hatchback door. Following yesterday's "autumn deluge" on opening the door above the horizontal, a significant amount of water poured from the inner door trim into the vehicle which could only have accumulated during the periods of rain. Seems a bit strange that (a...

Re: EPC Warning Illuminated
Visited Skoda main dealer today for further diagnostic check (EPC warning had not reappeared) and they advised that yes there was a coded defect showing, but of a minor nature, however the check also showed that there was a "Skoda directive" outstanding which apparently requied a software ...

EPC Warning Illuminated
2020 Kamiq 1.5 tsi SE I was just driving along normally to home yesterday when suddenly the EPC warning illuminated for no apparent reason. Continued to home with caption still illuminated, but car seemed to be driving normally and despite then switching car off, then on again several times, no chan...

Evoveco Advert
I would suggest the site admin removes the subject advert it is currently carrying. An online search and reviews of the ecoveco OBD2 device indicates that (quote) "the item does not work as advertised", "it just lights up-nothing else", " it is a scam" etc. etc. We can ...

Re: 110 bhp Engine Motorway fuel economy
I have a 2020 1.5TSI (150bhp) SE Kamiq manual , and I don't think fuel economy wise there is to much difference between it and the 3 pot 110 bhp version. On motorway journeys of 150 -200 mls I have done, the onboard computer tells me I am getting 52 -55 mpg, and it seems the more mileage I have accu...

Re: Do I buy a kamiq or a puma
Sorry I cannot provide a definitive opinion, suffice to say I have owned a Kamiq 1.5 SE since May 2021 and really can't fault it. Driver seat height could be a little higher if I'm being picky but it is OK other than that it is fine. Never driven a Puma, but that said, my sister in law has just got ...

Re: Tyre pressures
Queried the above with Goodyear (spare is a Goodyear !) According to them, it is not unusual to fit an R16 ytyre to an 18 inch rim for use as a spare (only) . The overall external diameter of an R16 tyre on an 18 inch rim will be approx. the same as for a R18 tyre on same so should not be an issue, ...

Re: Tyre pressures
This "spare wheel" issue is becoming stranger and stranger the more I check ! In previous Post I said mine was a 195/55 R16 TYRE. In fact on rechecking I find it is a Goodyear 195/60 R16 ! Also, in moulded small print on the tyre wall it states " MOUNT ON 18 INCH RIM APPROVED FOR RADI...

Re: Tyre pressures
No problem. As far as the spare is concerned mine is a 195/55 R16 although all the vehicle tyres are 205/55 R17, but I keep it at approx 30 psi also. I don't see any logic in having it at 4.2 bar (60psi) just for temporary usage.
